Well, now that it’s 2018, it’s time to go into full training/fundraising mode for my Great Wall of China trek! However, guess what… FUNDRAISING IS HARD! Trying to figure out how to do it, when to do it, what will work and what won’t work!
It’s pretty much trial and error, but I am determined that I’ll reach my minimum fundraising goal before the deadline of July! It’s going to be tough though and that’s why I need as much help as possible.
What is the Great Wall of China trek?
Well, a group of people (including myself this time around) get together to walk 71km of the Great Wall of China, starting in Beijing.
We’ll tackle rocky terrain, up to 8 hours of walking a day for 10 days straight, various weather conditions and rural camping. It’s worth it for the experience alone, but to know we’re doing it for such an essential charity makes it all worthwhile.
How can you help?
Well obviously donations are highly welcomed and if I could buy all of you a doughnut to say thank you I would, but I can’t. If a donation is something you’d like to go ahead and do, you can jump on over to my JustGiving page!
However, I know that not everyone has the spare funds to just go donating left-right and centre, so there are plenty of other ways you can help!
- Share my YouTube video!
- Share the JustGiving page
- Tell people about my story and the trek
- Follow me on social media
- Subscribe to my YouTube channel
- Or even just email me for a chat!
Over the next couple of months I’ll be documenting all the training I’m doing to prepare my body and mind for the trek, as well as updating you on my fundraising activities.
I even got a GoPro to help me document all my outdoor activities and hopefully, if I meet the deadline, I can take it along to China and bring all of you along with me!
Now I have to work my butt off to try and organise as many events and revenue streams as possible to try and raise enough money AND I also have to focus on getting my fitness to its peak so I can blast this trek out of the water!
So yeh, it’s going to be a pretty hectic and exhausting 2018, but I can’t wait!
